Information according to the Battery Act
In connection with the sale of batteries or the supply of equipment containing batteries, we are obliged under the Battery Act (BattG) to inform you of the following:
Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries. After use, you can return batteries to us or to designated collection points - e.g., municipal collection points or retailers - free of charge. You can also send batteries back to us by post with sufficient postage.
Battery Act Symbols & Abbreviations
The symbol with the crossed-out wheelie bin means that you must not dispose of batteries and rechargeable batteries with household waste. Below this symbol, you will also find the following symbols with the following meaning:
- Cd = battery contains more than 0.002 percent by mass cadmium
- Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005 percent by mass mercury
- Pb = battery contains more than 0.004 percent by mass lead
